- After playing for the better part of a week the game and its concept are remarkably solid if a little simplistic and cheesy. But in fairness to Irrational all the pieces aren't quite in place yet, and refinement seems to be what the game needs most of all at this stage. That's a solid place to be with the release date still at least a month or two away. Also, it's amazing how refreshing the overall game concept is. The fantastic subject matter lends itself so well to action, role-playing, and strategy gaming, all at the same time. Regardless, it looks like Freedom Force is going to have an impact on what you see on store shelves in the future, ushering in maybe not a Golden Age of superhero gaming, but maybe, indeed probably, at least a Silver Age.
