Morrowind Developer Q&A

RPGVault has posted their latest Morrowind Developer Q&A, discussing with Bethesda's Todd Howard about how the various weapons and armor available in the game will be integrated:

Jonric: Please describe how the armor system works. What are the different body locations where a character can wear armor? And what kinds of different materials should players expect to see?

Todd Howard: You have seven armor slots - head, chest, left shoulder, right shoulder, legs, feet, and a shield slot. Armor has weight, rating and condition. So, the more damaged your armor gets, the worse it protects you. Like weapons, you can also have armor repaired. There are also armor-wearing skills, so certain characters will get more protection out of certain armor types. Like weapons, armor comes in all different makes, such as iron, steel, chitin, bonemold, dwarven, etc. Dwarven is my personal favorite. We'll be adding some pics of them to our Web site really soon (like, tomorrow).
