Pool of Radiance Peek

One of the oldest gaming sites on the net, GamesDomain, the site that was there back when HappyPuppy first began as well, has previewed Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, providing plenty of eye candy to go along with the narrative. Fortunately this is a preview that's done their research and has more than just pre-release hype, listing both many positives along with a few negatives. Here's a trickle:

Instructions can be issued to party members by a series of menus conjured up wherever you like with a simple click of the mouse. Navigating through them is simple, although perhaps not so much as Planescape: Torment's delightful interface disc. Skills can be used, attacks chosen, spells cast and equipment altered all from these menus, without having to leave the game screen. Even the character readouts and inventories appear as transparent overlays. It's all quicker and easier than we're used to, and does away with much of the flipping back and forth between different screens when managing your characters.
