Auckland, New Zealand – August 11, 2022 – During today’s livestream event, Grinding Gear Games revealed a trailer and content details for the latest Path of Exile expansion, titled Lake of Kalandra, which will launch on August 19 for PC and Mac, and August 24 for PlayStation and Xbox.

Path of Exile: Lake of Kalandra will explore the namesake of the famous Mirror of Kalandra, giving players a taste of Kalandra's power. The August expansion contains the Kalandra challenge league, new content in the Atlas endgame, four new gems, 14 new unique items, 100+ buffed existing uniques, revamps to Harvest, Beyond and Archnemesis, a variety of balance changes and much more!

Lake of Kalandra Key Features:
  • The Kalandra Challenge League - Travel to the mirrored lake that granted Kalandra her powers of duplication to fight reflections of Wraeclast in order to uncover Kalandra’s mysteries and unlock true power.
  • Mirrored Tablet - While journeying through Wraeclast, players will occasionally discover Mirrored Tablets that allow them to place reflections of dangerous encounters in the Mirror and open a portal to the Lake of Kalandra. Within the Lake, players will experience the reflections of Wraeclast, with the encounters increasing in difficulty and rewards the farther away from the entrance they are. As players progress through the league, they'll unlock special abilities to skip, reroll and exile choices that are offered, letting the player refine Tablets more efficiently. In the endgame, completed Tablets will be able to be itemized to save them for later or trade them away.
  • Endgame Improvements - Atlas Memories - Atlas Memories offer a way to explore endgame content and earn very valuable rewards without having to specialize the Atlas Tree for it. In high-level maps, you can find a rare Memory item representing memories from Alva, Niko, Einhar or Kirac. These highly challenging and rewarding Memories can either be applied to your Atlas or traded to other players.
  • New Balance Changes - Many changes have been made to Path of Exile's balance, including an overhaul of the Trickster Ascendancy Class and Minion Itemisation. The Trickster Ascendancy has been reworked, with a focus on establishing thematically-appropriate defenses and ways to manipulate speed.
  • New Skill and Support Gems - This expansion introduces three new skill gems and one new support gem. Three of these focus on lightning and shock.
  • Revamped Content - rare and magic monsters throughout Path of Exile have been overhauled, difficulty and rewards of Archnemesis mods have been revisited, Beyond has been revamped and large changes have been made to Harvest.
In addition to the announcement of Lake of Kalandra, Grinding Gear Games also announced ExileCon 2023, which will take place on July 29-30, 2023 in Auckland, New Zealand. Attendees will be able to play Path of Exile 2 and Path of Exile Mobile, attend talks given by Grinding Gear Game developers and hang out with other Path of Exile fans, and more.
