The Elder Scrolls: Blades - Update 1.4 & Scares Galore

With the month of October upon us, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, Bethesda's mobile take on The Elder Scrolls Series, can now boast a new update that, among other things, introduces the seasonal Witches’ Festival event. The update turns the game's hub into a dark and spooky place, adds four new “fearsome” quests along with some seasonal music and decorations, and just for good measure overhauls the game's spell system. You can find the patch notes here. And here's a quick preview of the new stuff:

August and September came and went so quickly, we’re somehow already in October! In August, we introduced Update 1.3, which featured two brand new questlines, plus an extra mission. We tackled various bug fixes, features, and general improvements. A few more Limited Time Events came to Tamriel, like the Enchanting Weekend and the 48 hours of bonus XP. September featured a few surprises as well, like the Gem giveaway on the Blades social accounts, and LTEs like the Architect Weekend. Now that we’ve entered October, Blades is welcoming fall and all the tricks and treats that come with it this month with Update 1.4. This update will turn your Town from a bright, sparkling, daytime hub into a spooky, eerie, nighttime destination! There may also be a few more quests, themed for the Witches’ Festival season.

Let’s delve in a little further on what to expect from this creepy update!

UPDATE 1.4 & SCARES GALORE!

The update will go live in early October, giving you plenty of time to get into the Witches’ Festival spirit. Some changes you’ll see include:
  • Four new fearsome quests
  • New scary decorations
  • Edited 10/03: Complete spell overhaul
  • Nighttime Town view for the Witches’ Festival, accompanied by brand new music
We don’t want to spoil you by talking about all four creepy new quests, but we’ll give you a few hints of what to expect. Go ahead and read on… if you dare!

We hope you aren’t too scared of spiders, because one of the new quests involves discovering why the tamed arachnids of a nearby village are suddenly attacking villagers. A once docile species, thanks to a special elixir the farmers use to disguise their scent, the spiders produced plenty of silk so that tailors could create some of the finest and most beautiful cloths and fabrics known to Tamriel. But now the spiders are attacking, and the village needs your help stopping them!

Another quest features an unknown creature named the “beast of legend,” who terrorized a now-abandoned village—and is continuing to terrorize small farms and villages on the edge of the forest. According to the lore, this beast lived in a cave nearby to the empty village, and the inhabitants were so frightened they picked up their families and ran away to seek safer refuge. Since this beast isn’t done terrifying the natives, you must bravely explore the abandoned town to investigate these rumors of his monstrous cave.

Those are all the sneak peeks into update 1.4 we have, and we can’t wait for you all to experience it for yourselves!
