Thea 2: The Shattering Update #22 - Pre-alpha Gameplay and News

A new Kickstarter update for MuHa Games' upcoming 4X, CCG, and RPG hybrid Thea 2: The Shattering brings us a sizable chunk of work in progress pre-alpha gameplay footage, complete with developer commentary, and shares some general development news. So, without further ado, here's some Thea 2 gameplay:

And here are the text parts of the update:

Hi everyone.

So we've had a chance to show a short demo of some pre-alpha gameplay for Thea 2 at Digital Dragons last month and today, we want to share a play-through from that.

Now, the video is a bit long, but we wanted to show as much as possible.

As you can see, the game is finally taking shape and since the demo was made, we've already updated and improved the crafting and recipes and added more content, so things are going well. We got some good feedback from the players, and we were pleased to see all three modes(physical, mental and spirit) working really well in the card game. The crafting, especially cooking, was fun as always and we had some positive words about our new UI and the general direction we're heading, which is great.

However, showing and playing the demo made us aware of just how much more we need to do before we're happy to let people test the game fully, so we may need to push the early access date a bit, but we will tell you the specifics of that next month after we had a chance to fully reassess our progress.

Majority of the portraits and creatures are done, although a final batch is being made as we speak, so if you haven't received your portrait or creature design, please do drop me a line and I can check if all is in order.

What's next?

As I mentioned, we'll have some brainstorms and meeting over the next month to try and decide how much more time we need to bake our second born. But, as ever, work is steaming ahead. Some of the biggest chunks that will be implemented over the next two months will be the multiplayer, factions, character progression and god progression and of course, the big elephant in the room, balance.

Next month, we're also looking to implement the main quest-line, which again, will require a lot of initial testing to make sure it makes sense when it is finally out in the world, but it's certainly exciting to see it all come together.

And with the main quest done, we will also start putting in YOUR quests, which will be so great as we've really enjoyed all the stories and inspirations we were given!

If you have any questions, or just wan't to chat, please do join us on Discord, or drop us a line here on KS.

All the best,

Yuuki
