Snapshot Games' Julian Gollop participated in this year's EGX Rezzed event with a roughly 40 minutes long Phoenix Point presentation, during which he talked about some of Snapshot Games' design decisions aimed at differentiating Phoenix Point from its X-COM predecessors.
He mentioned alien mutations and how the creatures will be able to kidnap and repurpose your soldiers, promised that we'll be able to construct, design and defend multiple bases, and showed off some alpha gameplay. He also offered a look at the Geoscape in its current iteration with multiple AI-controlled factions researching their own tech trees and doing their own thing independent from the player, which could lead to a number of different endings.
