Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Public Beta Announced

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is currently in Closed Beta. This is soon to change, when on May 24, 2017, the Public Beta kicks off. An important thing to note is that the current participants of the Closed Beta will have their progress reset but receive a number of rewards.

Are you ready for some fierce card-core action? Today, CD PROJEKT RED officially announced the Public Beta for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. Scheduled to begin May 24th, the Public Beta will be available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
“Public Beta is the next step in the game’s development process, one that we’d be honored to continue alongside everyone who’s been with us thus far,” said Benjamin Lee, Development Director at CD PROJEKT RED. “It’s also a chance for many new gamers to play GWENT for the first time and we’re looking forward to making the game even better with their help,” added Lee.
GWENT’s Public Beta is a fresh start for everyone. Card collections and player progress will reset to ensure gamers begin on equal footing. Everyone who participated in the Closed Beta will receive Card Kegs, as well as other in-game rewards for their activity. The switch from Closed to Public Beta will entail a short technical transition period starting May 22nd. Until the start of Public Beta on May 24th, game servers will be offline for maintenance. During this time, GWENT’s Facebook and Twitter channels will provide updates on the game’s status.

And a few words regarding the Closed Beta rewards:
Many things have changed since we launched the Closed Beta of GWENT — we’ve introduced dozens of balance tweaks, added new mechanics, new premium versions of cards, implemented a ranking mode, and more.
Since Public Beta will mark a significant influx of new players, we want everyone to start on equal ground. That’s why we need to reset everyone’s card collection (fear not — we’ll give you back all the Kegs you purchased with real money!) and game progress (player level, Ore and Scraps).
However, we also want to reward you for the time you invested in helping us make GWENT better. And this means you’ll get to smash public some shiny new Kegs. Chances are, a lot!

- Every Card Keg you purchased — we will return you the amount of Kegs you bought with real money.
- Card Kegs for Player Levels — starting from level 5, you get 2 Kegs every 5 levels.

- All items granted as gifts from CD PROJEKT RED (like the gift premium Geralt card).
