Dark Souls III Video Critique

YouTube videogame critic Joseph Anderson has published an hour-long video essay on Dark Souls III, in which he offers his decidedly mixed thoughts on the current conclusion to the Dark Souls franchise. In short, Anderson praises the game's level design but feels the world design and area themes are weak, and the bonfire placement inconsistent.

He also points out several issues with the game's hitboxes, but keeps much of the criticism close to his vest because he feels the game was rushed to release and might look significantly different after the release of more patches and the DLC.

I don't quite agree with the analysis myself (especially the idea that flaws automatically imply that a game is "unfinished", which to me reeks of naiveté), but it's an interesting and well-balanced take that provides plenty of examples for every point brought out:
