Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones Successfully Funded on KS at €73,742

The team at Cultic Games has sent out a new Kickstarter update to celebrate the successful end of Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones' Kickstarter campaign. The strength of the concept of a Lovecraftian RPG alone probably managed to convince many to pledge, but there's no doubt this was a strong Kickstarter campaign, with gameplay already available and a clear design direction.

And while technically the developers didn't hit any of the stretch goals, they were so close to reaching the first one (the Dreamlands stretch goal required €75,000 while they raised only €73,742) that they decided to promise the Dreamlands content anyway, either in the base game or the first expansion for it:

We are well aware of the fact that we've completed our campaign very close to the Dreamlands stretch goal. Therefore we wanted to reward your decisive efforts to see the Dreamlands in Stygian. Even if time and resources won't allow us to implant the whole Dreamlands content to the core game in spite of making Stygian as polished as it can be, we'd like to assure you that our first major expansion will include the Dreamlands and it will be considerably cheaper for our backers whose pledges include a copy of the game.

In addition to that, there is going to be at least one Dream Quest in the core game, in which we'll be laying the foundations of the Dreamlands mechanics.

Congratulations to the team at Cultic Games. We really hope to see them realize the concept's potential and release a great game.
