To my surprise, Firaxis and 2K have released a new DLC for XCOM 2, Shen's Last Gift, today. The DLC is available on Steam for $9.99/€9.99/£7.99, and a trailer for it is available on YouTube. I've taken the liberty to embed it below:
According to the DLC overview, this piece of content will add a new soldier class, new strategy mechanics and new customization options, on top of what sounds like a new custom story mission:

I'll admit I don't fully understand the DLC strategy for the new XCOM titles. I haven't really heard any feedback on the recently released XCOM 2 DLC, but as far as XCOM: Enemy Unknown was concerned, the Enemy Within expansion seemed to elicit a lot more interest than its bite-sized DLC packs. I can't help but wonder if Firaxis will follow up with a full-fledged expansion this time too, though only time will tell in that regard.
