Consortium: The Tower and BioWare AMA with Greg Zeschuk

With only a couple of days left to go in the Fig crowd-funding campaign for Consortium: The Tower, the team at Interdimensional Games along with one of their primary investors - BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk - has taken to Reddit to answer any and all questions we have about the RPG along with a variety of unrelated BioWare questions. A couple of examples in no particular order:

Klowd19: Dr. Zeschuk, what are your impressions on where the Mass Effect franchise is heading with Andromeda?

Side question: Favorite companions throughout Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and KotOR?

GregZeschuk: I had the chance to visit the BioWare team in Montreal last year and see a lot of old friends working on Andromeda. I know there's been a lot of news stories about "KEY TEAM MEMBERS LEAVING"... and the such, but the reality is there are still a number of veterans working on it, and what I saw (which I can't talk about as they make me sign NDAs now when I visit) looked really impressive. I believe they're going to make a kick ass game.

Trust me, I'm a doctor!...:)

Sorry, I forgot the favorite companions segment of the question.

Dragon Age - Varric was my overall favorite. He always seemed to have much more going on than it appeared, and he had an interesting attitude.

Mass Effect - Mordin Solus (as I mentioned in another answer), but I also had a soft spot for Wrex. When we were demoing Mass Effect 1 at E3 years ago I was driving while Casey was talking, and we did the Wrex decision scene hundreds of times, and I still was amazed every play-through.

KotOR - Hk-47 - one of my favorite characters of all time. Is there really anyone else?

NikusPokus: Hello to both Gregs ! First, I've got a question for Mr. Zeschuk : Have your tastes as a gamer changed now that you've left the industry ? Or are you pretty much still playing the same types of games as before ?

GregZeschuk: When I left the industry in Fall 2012 I took a huge break from playing games for almost a year. I literally didn't play anything as I was quite burned-out from the never-ending grind of working on a MMO. Don't get me wrong, I loved the opportunity, but MMOs are relentless and I have a bit of a tendency to give everything I've got, but one can only do that for so long. So, short story, I took a break from gaming for a year.

During the course of BioWare I literally tried to sample as many games as possible. I was usually trying a couple games a week, and only finishing the best ones (rarely). That's the main difference now, I sample and play only very few games, but I still play a fair amount.

I got into and played League of Legends for about a year and a half, mainly playing ARAM at the end for the "quick fix" nature of it. I've only played a handful of other games: Dark Souls 2 & Bloodborne (finished every boss in both of those solo as I'm a masochist), Fallout IV, Dragon Age: Inquisition (amazing to finally play a BioWare game where I don't know the story), and I'm currently playing Witcher 3 before I undertake a punishing run on Dark Souls 3.
