Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear Gameplay Footage

The latest Beamdog livestream on Twitch.tv showed off Siege of Dragonspear, the first original expansion for Baldur's Gate in almost 20 years, which is coming out on March 31st. During the livestream, Beamdog lead designer Phillip Daigle and writer Amber Scott showcased a few new areas and side quests, and a number of improvements that will be included in Siege of Dragonspear and ported back to Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.

Some of these improvements include optional character outlines and highlights, difficulty levels that affect encounter composition (with enemies disappearing from the screen if you switch back to an easier difficulty level), a revised journal system that won't obstruct the entirety of the screen, a new map system with a toggle that shows which parts of the map are traversable, and a new implementation of Infravision that takes the light sources in the map into account.

All in all, we're talking about a little less than an hour and a half of brand new commented gameplay footage:
