The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Budget Revealed

The folks at Gamasutra have taken a look at a recent financial briefing for CD Projekt RED (available at this link, though note that the video is in Polish) and reported on the budget for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game cost 306 million PLN (Polish złotys) or $81 million, but that budget also includes localization and marketing. Apparently, company CEO Adam Kiciński was satisfied with the return of investment:

Despite the pressures that came with such a intensive promotional push, and the overall cost of developing the title, Kicinski believes the fact that the game sold over 6 million copies in the first six weeks proves the $81 million outlay was a "good investment."

Those sales drove the studio to make a profit of 236 million zlotys ($62.5 million) in the first half of 2015.
