Mooncrest Will Release on PC First

One critical piece of information was missing from the announcement of Mooncrest, KnightMayor's indie action-RPG: the platforms on which the developers intend to release the game. Thankfully, a post published today on the official website for the game sheds some light on the developers' plans. In short, the devs are only confident about their ability to deliver a PC version of the game, but are also looking at Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as potential release platforms.

Based on the risk and rewards in play, the developers plan to make the Mac and Linux versions available at "reasonable" stretch goals for the Kickstarter campaign for the title. The console versions seem slightly less likely, though, as the risks involved are higher, though still manageable. The developers are currently planning to introduce a console release stretch goal, but they're also still researching to make sure this is feasible.

All that said, what we know for sure is that the game will release on PC first (provided the Kickstarter campaign is successful and development goes smoothly, of course):

So in summary, we are still finalizing all of our plans. PC release is a near certainty and likely to be the only platform for Mooncrest at launch. We are interested in bringing Mooncrest to the widest possible audience including: Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One. These secondary platforms are likely to be developed after the initial platform release provided we reach the appropriate stretch goals. Determination of where we place the platforms in the Kickstarter stretch goals will be based on popular demand. So if you strongly want a specific platform, let your voice be heard!
