Expeditions: Conquistador Released

One of the first, if not the first, promising Kickstarter-funded turn-based RPG/RPG hybrids to be released is Expeditions: Conquistador, which is coming out today as noted in the latest post-funding update (backers should be receiving their keys right now).

While aficionados of Valve's digital delivery service will have to wait a bit longer, you can already grab the title on GOG for $17.99 (will be $19.99 when out of launch window), Desura (European players get a much less convenient deal than with GOG given it costs €17.99 and will be €19.99 later) and GamersGate (for the same prices as Desura).

Here's an overview of the game I'm borrowing from GOG:
As the leader of the expedition, you will face difficult decisions about the use of your troops and your resources, as well as how to engage with the factions of the savage New World. Will you defy history and be a diplomatic envoy of peace? Or will you be a ruthless conqueror determined to lay all of the Aztec Empire at your feet?

Expeditions: Conquistador is a tactical roleplaying game with a touch of strategic resource management and a pinch of choose-your-own-adventure. Conquistador is set in a rarely visited part of history which is rife with mystery, political intrigue, and good old-fashioned violence.

And a snippet on keys from the update:
Hi everyone! It was very intense in these last few hours but we have sent appropriate game keys to everyone who placed orders for GOG or GamersGate, the folks at Desura have gotten back to us and are sending out your keys themselves. They should already be in your email. The Desura Linux version of the game may be delayed shortly due to some technical issues with the Desura client. The issue seems to be on their end but we're trying to work around it. We will post a comment to this update when that is up and running properly. It will still work for the other operating systems and we have designed the save folder so that it is shared between distribution platforms. Unfortunately our plan to send you GOG keys will not help the Linux situation and while you can always request a steam key from us (if you haven't already), we're confident that the Linux issue will be resolved before the game launches on Steam today.

For those of you curious about Steam Keys, they will be coming out shortly. They can't be redeemed until later today, so we prioritized the keys for sites that you could download from at 12:00 CET (GOG, Gamers Gate, Desura). If you have not received any messages whatsoever from us regarding your redeem keys from those three sites (in your email, or Kickstarter Inbox) then you need to contact us right away so we can find your lost mail and send it to you again.

Congratulations to the Logic Artists team, hopefully the title will prove to be worthy of the support it has received!

Update: The game is now live on Steam too, for the same $17.99/€17.99 price as the GamersGate and Desura versions.
