The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing Reviews

We have our first batch of reviews for Neocore's The Incredible Aventures of Van Helsing to sift through this weekend, and based on the scores that have surfaced so far, it appears to be a solid action RPG excursion.

Strategy Informer gives it an 8.5/10:
What The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing may lack in replayability it makes up for in competence, enthusiasm and easy charm. The moment to moment slaughter, the deceptively deep levelling and abundance of powerful loot mean it's a difficult game to put down. If you're sick of Path of Exile's grind, or tired of poring over auction house entries in Diablo III, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing offers you a more immediate option to step into the shoes (and hat) of the roguish monster hunter and get down to the timeless pursuit of killing many monsters.

Hooked Gamers gives it a 9.0/10:
Neocore are stepping out of their comfort zone creating an ARPG, but if this is indicative of the care they take in every facet of game development, I look forward to seeing what the future brings for the company. I've been playing this game for over 10 hours and according to the narrative designer, I am at about 70% of the main plot line. I haven't spent too much time exploring or searching for Easter eggs, but judging from the list of hidden goodies within the game I can well imagine the game lasting at least 20 hours for those that do (on hard, that is). For a 15$ indie game, that is a lot of content. The game is very well done and interesting to play and with the option of four player co-op, which means four Van Helsings and four Lady Katarinas, I cannot but give the game my highest recommendation for any Action RPG fan looking for a thrilling experience. Get this game, dear reader. You will not be disappointed.

Canadian Online Gamers gives it an 84/100:
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is a very enjoyable game that I had a fantastic time playing. It really gives some recent Action RPG's like Diablo III a run for their money, at a fraction of the cost. It truly felt like I was playing a full retail title. That being said, I did find the combat to be a bit repetitive at times, and the build I played suffered from a few bugs, but considering that this is an indie title this is somewhat excusable and Neocore is fully committed to support and updates as needed. This is the first in a trilogy of games and I am a nxiously looking forward to playing the next installment. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing has so much content to offer including a rich and interesting narrative, spectacular graphics, a beautiful soundtrack and an extensive level system, and even with some of the issues I noted I still consider it a must play and an experience that should not be missed.

The Controller Online gives it a 5/10:
If you really enjoy top-down, hack-and-slash, RPG's then I think you'll like The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. The setting, environments, and characters are quite charming and manage to stay fresh throughout. Unfortunately, the severe technical issues the co-op mode shipped with are going to mar the release of an otherwise decent game.

6aming gives it a 4/5:
So, will I return to The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing? For the foreseeable future, yes I will. I will recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the action-RPG genre or just anyone looking for a fun time. Neocore Games did an amazing job bringing this world to our eyes and thrusting us into the life of a monster hunter. I will eagerly await the next entry in the Van Helsing tale.

And Softpedia gives it an 8.5/10:
There are some things that still need to be ironed out by developers, but, overall, I can guarantee that every RPG fan will enjoy Van Helsing's adventure in Borgovia. And for the price you have to pay, it would be a mistake to miss such a game.

I sincerely believe The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is one of the best RPG titles released this year and I can't wait for the second installment in the series, which is expected to arrive in about six months.
