Apparently between the original release and the Prepare to Die Edition re-release (which included the Artorias of the Abyss DLC), Dark Souls has sold 2,367,000 copies, as a crafty NeoGAF user discovered after google translating some Japanese articles on the title.

Additionally, the Xbox 360 version of the sequel is going to be released in Japan too, while Dark Souls saw only the PS3 version released in its developer's country.

While these numbers might not be as good as Skyrim, when one considers the limited budget of the title and its niche appeal, they're extremely good, and likely turned a profit for Namco Bandai.
