The Witcher/The Witcher 2 Free Backup on GOG.com Expires Soon

If you haven't yet claimed your free backup copy of The Witcher and/or The Witcher 2 on CD Projekt's GOG.com service, then you might want to make it a priority as there are only ten days remaining on the respectable gesture.  It's also worth noting that the "official" price of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is now $39.99, so I suspect future sales will have the excellent RPG sequel even more heavily discounted:
Only 10 Days Left to claim free backup of The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on GOG.com; Witcher 2 price drops for all countries paying in USD

While the PC download backup program will run for the foreseeable future, anyone who doesn't have their activation key for The Witcher or The Witcher 2 need to go to www.gog.com/witcherbackup by the 30th of June or they'll miss out.

WARSAW, Poland (20 June 2012) - All PC gamers who already own The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings only have 10 days remaining to claim free digital back-up copy from GOG.com if they do not have their activation key. Further, CD Projekt RED has dropped the price of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in all territories that pay in USD, and the permanent new SRP for these areas is $39.99 USD.

Over the last few months, development studio CD Projekt RED has further demonstrated their love for customers by giving away more than 3 million free backup copies of The Witcher and the sequel The Witcher 2 : Assassins of Kings. Anyone who has purchased either game from anywhere in the world is able to go to www.gog.com and claim a completely DRM-free backup copy of the game, with tons of extra content like wallpapers, videos, artbooks, and more. Providing everyone who ever bought the game anywhere with the definitive digital edition of their award-winning RPGs was a big move for CD Projekt RED, and they're reminding gamers that if they don't have their product key and need to go through a manual verification process to claim their free copy of either game, they only have 10 days left. Any requests for manual verification of ownership of The Witcher or The Witcher 2 for PC download after 11:59 PM GMT on 30 June 2012 will be out of luck. Don't wait any longer and redeem your free back-up copy and gain access to The Witcher games from anywhere in the world, anytime, and-of course-completely DRM-free.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has also dropped the SRP for the PC version in all countries that pay in US dollars, and the price in the United States and throughout much of the rest of the world is now $39.99 USD; in the EU, UK, and Australia and New Zealand, the price remains the same, but GOG.com has updated their Fair Price Package so that gamers receive a fair value for their money no matter where they live.
