Mass Effect 3 Operation Resurgence Detailed, Patch Issues Reported

The BioWare Blog informs us that the Mass Effect 3 team is currently running a challenge weekend based on the Resurgence DLC. However, it will not run on the PlayStation 3 as Sony does not allow BioWare to run challenges on their console that are also being run on Xbox 360 and PC:
Anyone who has the Resurgence Pack multiplayer DLC operational during this weekend will be granted a Reserves Pack. A Reserves Pack unlocks one of the new random alien classes guaranteed.

All participating squads will earn +10% additional experience when playing on the Resurgence expansion's new maps, Firebase: Condor and Firebase: Hydra.

This Operation is currently available to Xbox 360 and PC users only, and will run from Friday, April 13th at 5PM PST to Monday, April 16th 5AM PST. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer our Multiplayer Challenge weekends on PlayStation 3. Sony has not yet approved the promotion. We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC.
Meanwhile, Eurogamer is reporting that the recent Mass Effect 3 patch is causing problems with the game crashing when connecting to EA servers, especially on the Xbox 360.  These are problems that BioWare has responded to and is asking for fan help with:
The issue appears to be centred around the Xbox 360 version of the game, although some PlayStation 3 users report similar problems.

Some players who have installed the 4MB download have then been unable to load Mass Effect 3's main menu. The game will often enter an endless load cycle while attempting to contact EA's servers or simply crash the console completely.
