Through Andriasang we learn that Japanese video game magazine Famitsu brings news of a Dragon's Dogma demo that is going to include the game's character creation and a few quests, and will let players carry their character into the full game.

No word of when the demo will be released, unfortunately, but hopefully it should give us a better idea of how robust the role-playing elements of the title are and how it'll hold up.
