THQ Looking For Assistance on Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online

THQ is going through some financially turbulent times, and that's prompted them to seek out assistance from another publisher to bring Vigil's Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online to market. Apparently it's just getting too expensive and too risky for them to shoulder it all alone:
Alongside THQ's weak earnings report for its fiscal third quarter, the publisher revealed that it has decided to take a new, more cautious approach with its upcoming Warhammer 40,000-based MMO, Dark Millenium Online.

In a Gamasutra-attended investor conference call, THQ CEO Brian Farrell explained that the publisher is looking to partner with another company to help mitigate costs and bring the large-scale project to market.

"Because of the large financial commitment and associated risks, we are being realistic about our resources and we are actively seeking a partner for this compelling new MMO. We will keep you updated on our progress," Farrell told his investors.
It has to be frustrating to be knee-deep in a title that could make or break you, but I'm not sure why another publisher would agree to assume so much risk this late in the game.
