Unconfirmed: Diablo III Releasing on February 1st

I wouldn't normally believe Internet rumors claiming a February 1st release date for Diablo III, but given the fact that Best Buy has put up an elaborate countdown timer that promotes a midnight opening on the night of January 31st, I'm inclined to believe that the game is only 23 days away. My guess is that the Rochester, MN store just jumped the gun on putting up the display, and that an official announcement is coming this week.

If the release date really is February 1st, it'll be interesting to see if EA and 38 Studios push Reckoning's release date back a bit rather than go (nearly) toe-to-toe with Blizzard's behemoth.
