NCsoft had made good on their promise to switch Lineage II over to a "Truly Free" business model, as the game's ambitious Goddess of Destruction update is live as of yesterday afternoon. Head here to create a free account and download the client:

We are happy to announce that Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction is now live! Thanks to hard work from the NCsoft West Lineage II teams, the launch maintenance has been completed earlier than expected. All systems are go and players may now log in to enjoy the largest content update ever to the legendary game of Lineage II!
