Kingdom Under Fire II to be Exclusive to the PlayStation 3?

1UP brings word via Japanese website GameWatch that BLUESIDE has hinted at the possibility that their RTS/MMORPG Kingdom Under Fire II might be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 this time around, despite the fact that Circle of Doom was exclusive to the Xbox 360. Here's why:
Originally announced over two years ago, Kingdom Under Fire II is an "action RTS" that includes an MMO mode for thousands of players to share the same battlefield. It has always been slated for both PC and consoles, but the move to PS3 was an unexpected one. Game Watch is even calling it "the first Korean-born PS3 game."

In announcing a PS3 version, producer Sang-Yoon Lee cited the advantage of the console's Blu-Ray technology. The client software is expected to be nearly 20 GB which would fit onto one Blu-Ray disc. Subsequent updates could then be downloaded via the PlayStation Network.

Does this mean Kingdom Under Fire II is a PS3 exclusive? Sony Computer Entertainment of Korea President Shiro Kawauchi denied there was any contract to that end, but Blueside CEO Sejung Kim was blunt in his assessment of "problems" with Microsoft's online policy. He said that, while the company "had not given up" on an Xbox 360 version, the inability to deliver free items over Xbox Live was a "barrier."
