Deus Ex: Human Revolution Tumblr Q&A, The Missing Link Edition

The team at Eidos Montreal has taken to their Tumblr page to address quite a few fan-submitted questions about Deus Ex: Human Revolution's first set of DLC, The Missing Link. There's some great information here, so I'm going to quote most of it:
Who are the new characters and will anyone from The Icarus Effect play a role in The Missing Link?

(The new characters are Netanya Keitner and Pieter Burke. Both work for Belltower Associates. More info on them soon!

And while it is not essential in any way to have read The Icarus Effect, it is certainly a good idea to do so not only because the DLC has subtle references to it, but also because it's a great novel, period.)

Will the dlc have achievements to get?

(Yes, the DLC will have 250 achievement points/10 trophies associated with it. Trophy/achievement whores be warned!)

Will The Missing Link DLC cost us anything? Also at what point in the game are we allowed to play it[i.e what city hub]?

(The Missing Link will be paid downloadable content. We will reveal the price a bit later! And you can play the DLC from any point in the game.)

Will The Missing Link be playable straight from the main menu, or will it only be triggered at THAT point in the story? (You know the one ;P) Will people without saves before that point just have to play through your wonderful game again? Also, can we expect any new weapons? Thanks. P.S DX:HR = GOTY

(Most of the tools at your disposal will be from the main game. We do encourage you, however to try different approaches. The Missing Link is about a fresh start for Adam. New augs, new weapons, new situation as the underdog. Since it is shorter than the main game, THIS is the time to experiment! Have fun. there's only the weight of [REDACTED] on your shoulders!)

Will we see a new hub in a DLC?

(No, The Missing Link takes place in what we call a (compound). But it's a pretty huge one! Alright, we're lying, it's actually two huge compounds. Did we say too much already?)

Regarding the Missing Link trailer, is the man with the southern USA accent (and who is partially seen) the current leader of the Illuminati, as of Human Revolution, Lucius DeBeers? Oh, and I will have a slight gush by saying that I think all of the dev team has done a brilliant job working every detail of Human Revolution to foreshadow the original Deus Ex. You have an excellent team of writers, designers, artists, coders, QA and support staff. I salute you.

(The man in the trailer is Pieter Burke, a high-ranking operative in Belltower Associates. And while he might not be the ultimate big fish, he is one mean son of a bitch. You will definitely want to kick his ass until he cries for help!)

As someone who has finished the game twice (and attained a full gamerscore!), in The Missing Link, do I have start a new game in order to reach the specified point where the DLC takes place, or can I select this from the main menu and play it separate from the whole experience?

(Clicking (The Missing Link) on the main menu will take you straight to the DLC, so no need to prep save games in advance! We will not discourage you from starting a playthrough and playing it chronologically, however. We're continuity nuts ourselves (but you knew that already, didn't you?).)
