Grim Dawn Main Menu and Survival Mode Revealed

Well, a preliminary one anyway. As you'll notice in the latest addition to our image gallery, the action RPG's current main menu sports the usual selection of choices, aside from maybe the curious addition of a "survival mode". A little digging on the official forums explains what the survival mode will entail:
We've gotten the game to the point where the core gameplay is pretty fun. It is just taking a long time to produce content with so few people. So, the idea is that perhaps we'd release a version where you could run through areas of the world, kill enemies, collect loot, level up your character, and try different mastery combinations, just without the story-questing and full world that we ultimately want to build. To this end, one of the things we've considered is a survival mode where you play through a randomized series of small maps, leveling up your character, collecting loot, and trying to stay alive. Essentially, it would be like playing the normal game in terms of killing, leveling, and looting, just without the complete world and quests.
Could be interesting. The "grim"-looking farmhouse in the background is actually a window to an in-game level with wandering enemies and weather effects, too.
