Propaganda Games Was "Doomed" Before Pirates' Cancellation

Propaganda's Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned was one of the most promising action RPGs I had the pleasure to get some time with at last year's E3, so its cancellation in October was probably the most disappointing news I had to post in 2010. Obviously, being a part of the development team would make the news even harder to swallow, and that's prompted ex-Propaganda engineer Brian Provinciano to speak his mind to to NowGamer:
"I personally felt it was doomed two years ago. I mean, not to trash them, but the reality is that they had two projects that were cancelled and two projects that bombed," he told NowGamer. One of those projects was the promising Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned.

Provinciano thinks Propaganda's fate was ultimately sealed by a combination of its output and Disney's approach to the interactive market. "In my opinion they looked at it like, 'Hey, games make money, so let's start making games and buy some studios',) he added.

"But they didn't really know anything about games and so it was kind of two things; Propaganda wasn't doing good work, but at the same time Disney didn't know how to properly manage a game company."
