Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Preview, Release Window

Relic's forthcoming Warhammer 40,000-based action RPG has been given the preview treatment over at NowGamer, while simultaneously being confirmed for a summer 2011 release on IGN. An excerpt from the former:
Taking the role as one of the Emperor's chosen Space Marines, you're battling for the very existence of humanity against the Orks. As Captain Titus of the Ultramarines Chapter, you're tasked with repelling an invasion of a heavy industry Imperial Forge World a planet devoted to the manufacture of arms and armour. The goal of the invasion is to salvage control of a gigantic tank which would be a major coup for the aggressors.

Combat is squad-based, with the player leading the charge of a group of four Space Marines with distinct roles for each: assault, tactical, devastator and the sergeant. The third-person action has a visceral quality to it that's similar to Gears Of War, but don't mistake the technology behind it for the Unreal Engine 3 this is Relic's Phoenix engine and it's been built from scratch for console games.
