Background

You'll receive this quest when you talk to Orias (in your merchant headquarters at Crossroad Keep) after learning that Sa'Sani murdered Nas'Sirin.


Walkthrough

For this quest you'll need to track down Sa'Sani. Your first stop should be the Lantanese Lumber Camp in Samarach. When you talk to Dall Nickleplate there, he'll let you know that Sa'Sani passed through the camp, and that she muttered something about "the temple" and "they'll be coming" before she departed.

With those hints in hand, you'll find Sa'Sani in the Viper Temple located in the mountains to the east. When you talk to her there, you'll learn a few things:

• That Sa'Sani is a yuan-ti princess of the Sauringar clan,
  
  
• That she and her clan were duped by the Se'Sehen clan, which is manipulating events to make a grab for power,
  
  
• That Nas'Sirin was a member of the Se'Sehen clan, and
  
  
• That Sa'Sani tortured and eventually killed him so she could learn their secrets.

When you complete the conversation, you'll gain 2400 xp, and the quest will come to an end. But at the same time you'll be attacked by some Snaketongue zealots, two Se'Sehen abominations, and a yuan-ti named Es'San. You won't be able to kill Es'San -- he'll simply flee once you've damaged him enough -- but the others should go down easily enough, and when you loot their corpses you'll find a Ring of Protection +2, a Chain Shirt +2, a Heavy Shield +3, a Bastard Sword +3, and more.
