Blacklake
1 - ENTRANCE FROM BARRICADES

Note that between No Man's Land and the Blacklake district there is a short section called The Barricades. There is nothing of significance there, however if you talk with Gate Captain Harn, he will give you a hint as to who might have the Waterdhavian Creature in this district. Harn will also give you two important pieces of information. One is the conflict between Formossa and Meldanen about the fact that Meldanen is storing food and will not part with it in order to feed the townsfolk in these dire times and the other is the disappearance of a guard called Samuel.


2 - PUNKIN

A young girl by the name of Punkin will mention some strange activities going on behind the bookcase in her home. She can be persuaded to tell you the secret word, which is “Halueth”, to open the passage. Go inside and take a peek. It turns out to be a secret passage to another one of the Never Tombs.

Once inside the passage, you will have to fight a few undead. The note, in the chest by the door, gives you a hint as to the key that unlocks the passage. "A splinter delivered in flight" refers to the ceremonial arrow. Place it in the chest and the door will unlock. Be warned, if you choose to go through the unlocked door, you will have a very difficult fight to win. You will be put up against 4 swords of Never. This fight is again too difficult so you might want to go invisible, grab the Halueth’s Rusted Armor from the sarcophagus and get out without fighting the swords. Do not forget to return this artifact back to Oleff once you have it.


3 - BOARD LAID BARE

This is the Noble's local Tavern. The local guard captain, Thurin is spending his time here. Talk to him and you can receive the quest to rescue one of his guard's, Samuel. A bit of a side note, there is a guard dog outside that will give you a few hints to Samuel's location, assuming you can speak to animals and all.

When you save Samuel return back here and talk to Thurin again. You will then be rewarded with 300 gold pieces and 125 experience points. You can also get another 75 gold pieces with a successful persuasion check.

Also, assuming you have the Gauntlet pass from the Trade of Blades in the city core, you can present it to the bartender. He will grant you access to the Pit, a fighting arena. Go down the stairs and talk to Kellisai to fight, if you wish to do so. See below for more information about the fights:

  • 1st Round: You will be put up against Hrust a Dwarven fighter. Defeat him and you will earn 50 experience points.

  • 2nd Round: You will be put up against Fashi a Halfling monk. Defeat him as well and you will earn another 50 experience points for wining the second round.

  • 3rd Round: Fight the Half-Orc called Agar and his cougar cat. Best him to win this round and earn another 50 experience points.

  • 4th Round: Finally you will put up against Claudus, the current champion. The only problem is he will cheat and will come at you buffed and with 2 panthers at his side so make haste and be prepared for a tough fight. When you finally defeat him you will win the championship and for that you will be rewarded with 200 experience points and you will be the new owner of the tavern.


Nothing much to do as owner however but collecting some minor funds each week.


4 - FERMOSA

Formossa is preaching to a crowd about opening up Meldanen's warehouse stores to the people of Neverwinter, to feed them in this time of need. You can agree to help her with this. Formossa will be willing to part with 500 gold pieces if you bring back Meldanen’s silver tooth as well.

When you defeat Meldanen at his estate return back here and give Formossa the master key to Meldanen’s Warehouse and his silver tooth, if you killed him, and you will be rewarded with 500 gold pieces and a Periapt of Wisdom +1, You can also persuade her for another 150 gold pieces.


5 - HODGE ESTATE

This is the entrance to the Hodge Estate. Inside you will find one of the four pieces of artwork needed for Ophala of the Moonstone Mask, not to mention some loot. For a walkthrough of this section, click here.


6 - RUMBOTTOM ESTATE

This is the entrance to the Rumbottom Estate. Inside you will find one of the four pieces of artwork needed for Ophala of the Moonstone Mask, along with some random loot. For a walkthrough of this section, click here.


7 - WIZARD LAB

The last wizard lab is located here in this District. Enter it and fight the Air Mephit inside. You will find a Puff of Fog inside the Alchemist Apparacatus there. If this is the last of the items you need return back to the Many-Starred tower to complete your initiation to the guild. Again this quest is only available for the wizards and sorcerers.


8 – MILLY

Milly is the cleaning lady around here and can be found near the fountain. Talk with her and she will eventually let you know of another was to sneak inside the Meldanen Estate but she will first need a little persuasion. Apparently there is magic portal inside her house at area #10 that leads directly inside Meldanen Estate. Before you can use it though you will need to get the key to Milly’s house and she will glad to part with it. You can as well offer a few coins to Milly for some (3) alignment points towards good.


9 - ZOO

This is the entrance to the Neverwinter Zoo. Inside you can complete the quest given by the Druid Nyatar in the City Core. For a walkthrough of this section, click here.


10 - MILLY'S HOUSE

This is the entrance to Milly’s house. Look for old Milly wandering around outside her home at area #9. If you can successfully persuade her into talking, she will tell you about a secret entrance into Meldanen's estate inside her home.


11 - MELDANEN'S ESTATE

The door is locked and guarded, of course. The guard Orrean can be persuaded into letting you in or you can just resort to the grandest method of all, force. For a walkthrough of this section, click here.


12 - MELDANEN WAREHOUSE

When you have the master key from Meldanen you can return here and unlock his warehouse before giving the key to Formossa. However you will not find much inside but you will find some goodies and gold.
