Hellgate: London Happenings, Hellgate: Tokyo in Development

According to the action RPG enthusiasts at Hellforge, HanbitSoft intends to bring the ridiculously overdue The Abyss Chronicles update to Hellgate: London's Korean servers on December 8th. Not only that, but they've apparently picked up the North American publishing rights from Namco for $43,000, and a new server (that may or may not support North American players) is set to go online on that same date.

If Hellgate: London still leaves a bad taste in your mouth, though, then you may want to set your sights on Hellgate: Tokyo. Due out in 2010 (in Korea, anyway), the standalone expansion will include "unfinished content" from Hellgate: London. Concept art and additional information about the project can be found here.

As a dark, demon-infested shooter/RPG, I thought Hellgate: London was pretty damn good. It would be annoying starting over again without all of my high level characters, but I'd be willing to give The Abyss Chronicles a shot if a North American server went online. The auction system alone was going to be a huge boon to the game.
