World of Warcraft's expansion-bridging patch will be going live next week, on July 17, 2018, in order to get the game and its players ready for the August 14, 2018 launch of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. This so-called pre-patch will add a number of new features and shake up some of the existing ones, resulting in a new round of health rebalancing, a test run for the new world PvP rules, and an overhaul of the game's professions. It will also add some new exclusive pre-expansion content.
