| | The day of social doom is at hand i'm so ashamed at myself.. i made a snowball and putted it on a slope and soon that ball will grow and grow beyond my control and it will devour my (social)life
i.......*gasp**sob* ordered WoW today...
i've fought against it for a long time and now in a moments delirium i did it. i ordered the damn game which is said to be the best of all yadayadayada
so what i need to know is
1. what's the server you play in-->Brynn,yeltsu,fiber and is it a PvP server?
2. others can say but it doesn't really matter if i don't know you from SYM..
i'm so going to kick myself after this, i just hope i won't like the game that much and i'll stop playing after the 1st month(i have a 2week holiday coming up starting from next weeks friday so damn...)
well to tell the truth i'm not sure what i'd like better to like or hate the game... hmm... soo well.. umm yeah that's it... i guess huh..? |

| | I play on Dragonblight (PvE) But will soon go to play on the upcoming PvP RP server with some friends of mine, which will come with the next patch.
On Dragonblight I play alliance, My two main characters are: Asriel, lvl 60 dwarf paladin. And Hagbard: lvl 34 Human Mage.
On the PvP RP realm I will make an undead mage.
So if you want to roleplay with players that don't have 5 lvl 60 alts to back them up, you can create a character on the fresh PvP RP realm. Provided that you like roleplaying that is
Anyhoo, it's a great game! And I hope to see you soon in Azeroth

| | PvE= Player Versus Enviroment. what it means is that unlike PvP (Player Versus Payer), you cannot attack a member of the opposite faction, unless
1) he has written /pvp in which case he has pvp status and is attackable
2) he has gained pvp status by helping (ie. healing, buffing) a player in PvP status.
3) He walks into one of the mayor cities of the opposite faction (alliance: Ironforge, Stormwind, Darnassus. Horde: Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Undercity) which will give him pvp status automatically
4) you have pvp on (for one of the reasons above) and he attacks you, something that will give him pvp status as well
5) he attacks another player of your faction
6) he has joined battlegrounds, something that triggers pvp automatically.
I think that's it.....
Oh, and no worries about the RP stuff, it's just for fun

| | | looks like no-one else will participate in the conversation so...
i'm always a human fighter when it comes to RPG's IMO it's the easiest one to learn the world and the little tricks and then try smth different but now i'm strongly leaning towards the warlock, for being an evil mage on the side of good sound fun and it gives kind of epic proportions for the char... evil.vs.good.vs.char's evil etc... |

| | | Fighters - aka warriors is not an easy class to master, but easy enough to play and level up with - although, be prepared to die a lot.
But mastering the calss, then there are many things to being a good tank in WOW, however most of these aspects will come in at higher levels and not as much in lower levels.
Warlock is a pretty easy class to play PvE, if you learn to control the pet - then you can take 2-3 monsters at once. PvP they are much more difficult. |

| | | that's what i thought... fighters always take the dive and
i was thinking about the warlock to have a decent pet and being able to take on enemies with the pets help, and hope that warlock ain't utterly/completely screwed in melee(PvP excluded)
although the mage is also seducing but i think i'll make a warlock in a PvE server... somehow i don't like getting butchered while learning the game's tricks and sticks.. |

| | Well, warlocks don't realy use melee at alot, just spells. As do all caster classes in WoW. Quote: |

| If you play on a PvP realm you will not encounter any alliance that can attack you for atleast a couple of days gaming (maybe even a week). The reason for this is that the first 1 or 2 areas that you go to are non-contested areas which mean that you have to instantiate combat with the opposite faction inorder for them to be able to attack you. Therefore you needen't worry about being killed while still learning the controls of the game. And once you have mastered the controls of the game I don't see any real reson why not to choose a PvP realm as the adrenaline rush from being ambushed and killing the attackee is amazing That being said I play on Stormreaver PvP realm on the EU servers, so I might be biased.

| | thanks for the reply gara
well my main concern now is what happens when you die? do you lose equipment/experience or what?
i need a gamecard so i can activate my account and i didn't order it so i have to order it to play this system sucks donkey's balls big time
EDIT: i ordered the gamecard, it will prolly come day after the game arrives, argh i'm so stunned at how they make things... and the vendors websites(several) don't say anything that you need a prepaid card to activate your account... only that the first month is free and then you require either a credit card or cards... well this game has already costed me 80€ and i hope it's worth it...

| | | You only loose durability on your items which can be repaired at most stores which sells weapons/armors and such.
Which then means all you loose is some money.
No items nor experience. WOW is real casual friendly in that aspect. |

| | | Stays for some 10-20 seconds and then auto logout, which means there will normally be a short delay before you can log onto the game again with said character (queues not included in the equation) if your game (and not PC) crashes or you lag out. |
