How to identity item?

I am some "not identity" item.
I don't know how to identity them.

Use a scroll of Spirit's Touch. later you can train your character in that discipline, so you won't need to use scrolls anymore.

I just finished, and never took more than one level in Spirit Touch on any of my characters (gave it to 'both' women and Christof) ...was there *ever* any need to?

It does if you're greedy and don't want to spend too much money on scrolls.
