| | | Werewolf in Griffith Park OK--I have read all the threads about this werewolf, and I still can't do this quest! I am in final death before I can even figure out where to run. I made it to the fire, into both the observatory and tram building and he is still wasting me in 10 seconds. Where is the shack with the power switch? Does a flamethrower work on him? Help!! |

Essentially, there are two ways to get past the werewolf - run or kill it. You cannot harm him with your melee attacks (or not much anyway) or your guns, so don't even bother trying, you'll just get yourself killed or maimed.
If you want to kill the Werewolf you need to run to the shed next to the observatory building, which you can enter through the observatory or through a tear in the fence. Regardless, once you're in the shed flip the power switch on the outside wall. This will turn the observatory power on.
At this point, you'll need to run into the observatory's main room and take the stairs up to the platform with the control panel. Flip ther switch there to open the large doors and then wait on the Werewolf to try and get at you through the opening. Once the werewolf does that, flip the switch again and it will crush and kill the werewolf.
Alternatively, you can run for your life for four minutes (until the tram arrives). You don't get the satisfaction of killing the thing or the extra experience, but you still get to advance. Basically, I found the easiest way to avoid the werewolf is to use the observatory to your advantage. If you've got celerity or something, this is also very effective for keeping your distance. If you've got fortitude, I'd encourage you to keep this up too, to better survive the moments that fido does get a hold of you.
This is a hard quest and its partially about luck, I found, until you really get the hang of it.
Good luck.

| | | Thank you so much for your help! I finally killed the werewolf, but it took about 20 times!!!!! I think that this quest has been the most stressful event of my life, I had to take several breaks and walk around the house to calm down!! Hope that's not too pathetic! |

| | | take it easy hit f9 when you get the return of control to your character.
run past the werewolf to the right side of the flaming trees and withdraw crouched behind the rock - it can't touch you there.
wait for the timer to just about reach zero and hit f9 again.
move forward slightly, uncrouch and run forward between the tree and the edge a few seconds running away - he leaps at you but due to the interference of the tree cannot properly get you- keep running to the observatory.
save if you are not too damaged.
run throught the obs and out through the toilet to the outside and go down and to the left - there is the hut with the switch - if wolfie isn't on you and your damage level is ok, f9.
run to the building and through it - wolfie normally attacks you keep going and to the power control in the telescope room - you need to get the doors open - go through and outside again - find wolfie and get it to follow you back up the observatory steps - you get to the power switch for the doors and when it starts coming through the doors, power them up. one dead wolf (XP) and you can stroll down to the cable-car. get in and ride (more xp).
more fun awaits.

| | | Thanks! I'll try this next time. For future reference-flamethrowers have no effect on the werewolf either. |

| | | glitch defeat I ran into the observatory shack and crouched in a corner, and the werewolf broke down the door and got stuck in the doorway and walked back and forth for the 3 minutes, then wen the car came i stood up and he ran at me and i just made it in, then wen the car thing started moving i guess he died or something cause i got the exp for killing him. Chance of luck i guess? |

| | | the simplest way just get to the main observation room, and when it comes inside climb up the stairs, when it jumps on the platform go down the stairs, when it jumps off the platform go upstairs and so on and so on..... just be quick to run up the stairs because i u`r not it will destroy the stairs! |

But you can find some kind of talisman in Giovanni Mansion which adds +1 exp to all your exp gains. (if they are greater then 3)
So in this case you will really get +5 for killing and +5 for escaping. |

| | | Heh, I just did laps through the observatory until the timer ran out. Bloodshield protected me from the few times he managed to hit me.

| | try this I've only tryed it once but it worked. as soon as fluffy apears stop all movement. he'll come over and attack you, but don't fight back, don't run away, don't even move your mouse. fluffy will get bored with you then run around in the woods, chew on the fence and play smash'em with the buildings. as long as you stand still he forgets about you. of corse the first time he attacks he'll beat you within an inch of your life. but after that you'll have more then enough time to heal beafore you make a break for the exit. |
