Hello people.
I've just recently begun playing Vamp:Bloodlines and am having some trouble picking items up and interacting with stuff. The problem is getting the interface icon to show up: I'm usually forced to move around the object (computers, drawers, notes on desks, etc.), crouch, stand up, move some more, in order to find some position in which the icon appears. Most objects (such as doors) are no problem but stuff on the floor is annoying.
I haven't been able to pick Mercurio's money on the beach house (because there is no room to maneuver), nor Lilly's diary from inside the trunk of the red car (because it's in the trunk; I only get the icon for closing the trunk). No matter what I do, I don't get the interface icon for those two. But now I'm stuck, because I got the haunted hotel quest, and can't get the interface icon for any manholes I can find, which means I can't reach the sewers.
I realize this must be a total newbie question, but I'm having trouble finding on my own: Is this supposed to be this difficult? (No walkthrough even mention this, so I guess I must be doing something wrong.) Is there some way (hotkey, cheat, whatever) to make interfacing with those objects easier? I've tried crouching, standing over them, Auspex, almost everything I can think of, but came up empty handed.
Sorry if there's already some other thread dealing with this. I couldn't find any.
