Tech problem - Signal over range???

Signal over range??

When I start this specific game (Vampire the Masquerade -- Bloodlines) my monitor goes black and says "Signal over range" and I can do nothing but end the program from Task Manager!!! I have played the game before on this very same configuration. I have a TFT monitor which never had such problems before. Other games work ok. I've searched some tech forums and they say smth about monitor resolution and refresh rates. I am using 1024 x 768 and 75 ref rate.

There is also smth about reinstalling drivers but why should I do that if all other applications are ok?

This game does not have any of those launchers before start, so you can change things like resolution it supports etc.

Any help?

I've had the very same problem when I recently updated my graphics card. I've just made a quick Google search and copied the solution below which fixed my problem.

1) Click Start button > Run.
2) At the prompt type: REGEDIT. The registry editor will open.
3) Click on the plus next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
4) Click on the plus next to SOFTWARE
5) Click on the plus next to Troika
6) Click on the plus next to Vampire
7) Highlight Settings on the left
8) On the right right-click on the ScreenHeight and select modify
9) Make sure the base is set to Decimal instead of Hexadecimal
10) Enter the value for the screen height (this is the second of the two numbers, so if you wanted 1024x768 you would enter 768 here)
11) Click on OK
12) On the right right-click on the ScreenWidth and select modify
13) Make sure the base is set to Decimal instead of Hexadecimal
14) Enter the value for the screen width (this is the first of the two numbers, so if you wanted 1024x768 you would enter 1024 here)
15) Click on OK
16) Exit the registry editor

I'm currently using a refresh rate of 60 Hertz without problems. I'm not sure but I'd say you change the values in the Registry Editor to match your currently screen resolution settings.

Hope that helped, C U!
