Tal'mahe'Ra Blade - spoiler?

Is there any advantage to using the Tal'mahe'Ra Blade? Its stats appear to be no different to a standard katana. The only plus point seems to be selling it, if you already own a katana or saving the cost of purchasing a katana afterwards. Can someone enlighten me?

It's the best melee weapon in the game. It attacks twice as fast as a normal blade. As such, you'll do significantly more damage over all than you would with a normal katanna.

What Faust said. I've noticed that, overall, using fists is generally much faster than using a tire-iron, which is faster than using a katana, much as you would expect in real life. That particular blade, however, behaves like something with the length of a katana but the weight of a knife.

Having had some small experience with a Katana, I can tell you for free that the trick to using them with any skill lies in a strong and limber wrist and the ability to successfully redirect the momentum of the swinging blade to good effect. Controlling several pounds of swinging steel is no laughing matter. I also have a couple of 'whiffle katanas', or plastic katanas shrouded in foam for practice that prevent you from beating the bejabbers out of yourself while learning how to control them. They are, of course, much lighter than a real katana, and as such are significantly easier to use and faster to manipulate.

This, I figure, is the benefit of the enchanted blade - it is unnaturally light, hence the faster speed.
