Stuck Trigger

OK, this is a bit of an annoyance. Sometimes I stop, save game, check all weapons, get ready, and then enter a place where I know I'm going to be in trouble. Whakkety whack, and I'm dead. So I go back to my save game, load, and check weapons again. Whoa! What's this? All of a sudden my Stehr Aug won't stop firing - ever. Does anybody have a clue how I can stop this from happening, or what I'm doing to start it? Be advised I normally go into combat with a melee weapon, and it seems to be related to a whole bunch of left-mouse-button messages building in the queue that won't exhaust anytime during my life. Historically, it's been a minor gripe - a few reloads and it goes away. This time, it looks like it's here to stay. Any suggestions appreciated.

I had the problem with my portable stove - imagine how losing 150 units of flame-thrower power feels!

I found that the best solution was to hit 1 for unarmed which usually holstered the weapon and then chose a different ranged weapon.
