Stuck in Nosferatu Warrens, Level Two

Hi all. I'm stuck in Nosferatu Warrens, Level Two.
I turn the pump off and go into the water below the ramp, and swim down the pipe and then I can go both left and right and swim up on either side, but then, nothing happens. I'm trapped on either side without a way to get up or out. No cutscene happens and no other alternatives are apparent. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

PS. I have the quest to look for Gary but my quest log says that I might want to talk to Isaac first... the thing is, I can't get back out of here to see him... I can't go backwards, or forwards...

Ugh was afraid of that

I only use autosave (I know, I know...) and I've autosaved a million times since I got stuck so... basically, there is NO way to get out??

I believe your problem is exactly here, where highlighted. It's a little difficult here to figure out what exactly you need to do, but you missed out one important step between turning off the pump and swimming down the pipe.

SPOILERED:You need to turn the pump back on to increase the water flow in the right water passage. Then you have a barely sufficient amount of time to jump in and push yourself into the right pipe (it can be difficult without supernatural speed to aid, depending on your reflexes) before the pump denies you access. Once you have executed this properly, it should switch to a cut scene where the pressure pushes you into the next section of the map/game.

Yeah sorry I was unclear as to exactly where you are, but shift is right. It can be hard, I myself spent quite a while in this area my first play through. But if all else fails you can use the console to walk through walls and such.

ok so.. what do you mean by "use the console" to get by this? Cause.... I need to get past this. I can't do it otherwise. I turn the pump back on, and even with blood buff, I can't make it, so I don't know what else I need to do in order to make it down the pipe on time.
Thanks.

spoiler?

OK - this is a very painful part of the game.

there is only one way through and that is to be amazingly accurate (or have celerity!)

you hit the switches and then SAVE.

you then hit the switch and must turn left, run, jump off the platform into the water (first time) and keep moving with no hesitation. if you get it exactly right, you can turn right and swim up into the tank then up to a pipe. when you swim down the pipe, you get a cut scene and janked out of there and into another water-based area.

there are other threads on this because so many of us had problems and couldn't believe that the timing had to be so precise. there is probably 3% error margin on the turning, running, jumping, swimming - even a slight hesitation fails you.

if you have celerity, hit it and you get more game-time to reach the t-junction pump which is the crucial point to pass.

I did it first time for the first time in ages a few days back, but then I had already got celerity 3 or 4 (my favourite fighting discipline).

No celerity

I don't have celerity (or points I can put in it at this point) so I have no choice but to keep aiming for that 3 second window? Ugh, that's not right. For example, last night I had a couple of hours to play, and ALL I did the entire time was try to get past this point and I couldn't, over and over. Left me really frustrated and I'm starting to wonder if I want another session like that or if I should just call it quits on the game. It's not cool to make something SO nearly impossible. No patches or cheats would get me through this part??

Well, I hope someone is nice enough to provide the console command/instructions to allow you to pass this or perhaps enable the next area commands.

I believe searching for Ming Door or Temple Door should give you no clip, which might help. That is another unfortunately persistent problem, which you might want to be well aware of a solution anyway.

The window in which to do this is small, but not impossible. Some tactics suggested includes walking as near to the pipes as possible and turning as far away as possible, basically, getting the switch near the peripheral side of the screen so that you just get the "Use" icon. Trip the switch and turn around, begin running and jump after two steps or so, and continue to "run" as you fall.

Once you hit the water, it's straight forward and lean right.

It's frantic without Celerity, but more than 3 seconds... maybe 7 or 10

Note: Only Celerity helps because of the way it's implemented.. that the entire game world slows down, buying you extra seconds.

Send a message via MSN to Greg.
You don't need celerity - I've done it with a Ventrue and a Gangrel recently. Just hit the switch and run, jump down and keep swimming.

You don't need Celerity, but it helps. A lot.

I can understand how some may not have the manual dexterity to actually pull it off (no offense meant), being someone who's only mediocre in FPS.

Along with Violeta I am stuck here and playing using a keyboard and mouse. Have I ANY chance of making it?

Sorry for the double post - but would just like to say thanks for the tips. I managed to get out of the pump room.

I followed Shift224's hints with the following details:

0. Made sure I was up to full blood level (this meant replaying from some earlier point and eating lots of rats...)

In the pump room

1. Had the switch on peripheral vision.
2. Hit Blood Buff
3. Hit the switch
4. RAN!!! and jumped the catwalk. (I had practised this a couple of times to get it smooth as possible)
5. Hit Blood Buff as soon as the first effect (srom step 2) had worn off.

I did notice that when I reached the T - junction I seemed to stick for a while.

This was a VERY difficult room to escape.

Again thanks for the tips!

Happy to hear you made it, djingham.

Just a comment on your steps for further reference (not that there isn't enough on this board already):

Step #0 Would be cool to have; always.

Step #2 and #5 was actually unnecessary. As mentioned before, only Celerity works because of the way it is implemented in the game engine in that it slows down the movement rate of the entire game world except for the main character. Blood Buff, Potence... all do not work because there are no Strength checks made against the force of the fan (illogical as it is, but it's true). You will always fail against he maximum force of the fan; the only way is to escape the fan's area of effect before it reaches maximum force.

But the end point is, it's a major pain and incredibly difficult for some, but not impossible. Cheers!

The problem I had with this is I would make it to the t-bend and go up the right tunnel into the top tunnel and come to a grate and nothing would happen and I'd assume I didn't make it in time. Finally, I realized that behind me, the tunnel went another direction too. Who knows how many times I made it in time and was just too dense to look around! As soon as I went down that end in the tunnel I got a loading screen and then a cut scene. But you really do have to move fast to get there in time!
