Running The Game

I tried to run this game eariler this year. No results. I had compatability issues.
Well after months of therough cleaning out of useles stuff and fixing hardware issues, I try the game on the same last installation and LO It WOrks!

Well that was great I could get to the charactor generator screen. But I had some issues setting me back from the job of playing and making a charactor. Now I try and run the game, and all I can get is only about two intro movies to work and the rest says ....from the monitar............'No Picture'.
Then I hear the music but I cannot see the game at all. Just a black screen.

Sounds like you have conflicting resolutions, try setting your desktop to 60hz.
Hope your are not trying to run dula monitors with Bloodlines.
Did you install the Official 1.2 patch?
What video driver version are you using?

Dula monitors or do you mean, duel monitors. like in my case I have one VGC for the monitor and one for the secondary which in my case is a television with an S-Video cable from the VGC slot. About the patch how do I tell if it is installed or check the version number for the patch or driver?

Actually I mean dual.

I don't think it matter how you have dual's set, I am saying I am not sure it will run with dual.

Not sure there is version number to check, just get the patch and run it, if you wish.

Could SLI be the problem ? I am pretty sure the game isn't supporting it....

I seen it on the list of SLI supported games. I am currantly not running it on SLI but using each VGC on a different Monitor device, in my case a TV and a Monitor. It ran like couple weeks ago, But my setting may have changed sine. I think I am missing something about that. Is there a way to change the game running resolution with starting the game. I think in this case I am having Video - monitor and VGC setting issues?
SO how do I tell if it is already patched, although I think it is?

As why you aren't getting any signal...no real idea, have you installed latest GPU drivers ?

Maybe the two monitor setup is the crucial part, can you revert bacl to one monitor view for testing the game ?

Another thing worth trying...set the game to 800x600 pixels....that helped sometimes with a few glitches as far as I can recall.

AAnything else:

If you didn't install a patch by yourself, it isn't patched....as far as I know, no version was allready released with a patch.

Try this...make a clean reinstall, even clear out the registry. Reinstall the game, then patch to 1.2 ( the latest offical patch ). Try it out....

If it works, you still might want to install one of the latest unoffical patches on top of it ( just start a new game, as the saves probably won't work anymore ).

This is mainly speculation, but it probably deserves investigation. I've noticed sometimes when attempting to bridge a network with a PC that sometimes the PC refuses to acknowledge a network at all because it simply cannot decide which card it is supposed to use. Perhaps you're encountering the same kind of problem with your dual video. Try going into System/Hardware/Device Manager and disabling one of your video cards. With the ambiguity lifted, it might be a lot happier.

Here is a wierd update on my situation at my monitor. I ran the gae a few weeks a go on my number one primary mmonitor. Now I am having issues with getting the game to show up on the monitor. I did one thing that worked, I Switch my main DISPLAY to the TV AND it worked, but the video quality is worse than susspected so I am still trying to get the Monitor to work. On the TV it runs at 1024 by 768. ? .any suggestion here. I can get some intro videos on the monitor but the game and sound studders out in this case?

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, Patrick, but I'm trying out Powerstrip. It lets me pre-program a resolution and color palette to run with a specific executable. Hope that helps.

Doesn't help. Those settings aren't stored there - probably in one of the config files, if anywhere.
