Jeanette's quest

I read that I am to receive a knife from Jeanette but I looked through my inventory and there is nothing there. Only the one that I have had since the beginning of the game. Should I have a new one? Also, I tried using my knife in the Gallery Noir to destroy the paintings and nothing happens to them. I tried different orders and everything. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if it is a glitch. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Did you already have a knife before getting the quest?

If So: It doesn't matter and you can just go slash the paintings with the one you have, but there is a certain order.

If Not: I Dunno

I too had the same problem, but it was my fault and not the games. I got side tracked when talking to her, thought i had the quest, said bye bye and left to slash the paintings

Are you sure you actualy picked up the quest, and are you using any mods or unofficial patches that may effect your game? (i played with no patches since the patch wont work :S)

I am not playing with any patches or any cheats. I have gotten the quest from her but like someone had told me in a previous thread. There is a certain way of slashing the pictures. So, I guess I will try again.

You need a knife. If you do not have one, she gives you one just so you have one to use. If you already have one, she will not give you another.

As for the quest itself:

The paintings must be destroyed in a specific order. If it mends itself, you got the wrong order. Look around for hints, the order is there.
