Imalia Bug ****SPOILERS***

I just got down to Gary's lair, where you can find the ex-model Imalia in on the rooms. She's obviously supposed to give you some quest concerning a model, but when I speak to her, she immediately starts saying that I spoiled it etc. But how can I have spoiled it, when I didn't even ever receive any mission concering this? Seems to be badly bugged. Any ideas?

i couldn't get her to give me any quest, either. She just ranted about that supermodel girl. Sounds like you encountered a real bug though.
Maybe this quest is only open for cetain clans/high *insert social skil lof choice*?

It may be a bug... I found her when i found Gary - she was crying about a model and ended up giving me a quest to put a camera in the model's apartment. I did, but got caught by the boyfriend. I put the camera in, but I failed the quest because I was seen. I don't think the model and boyfriend are even in the apartment until Imalia asks you to put the camera in for her, so I'm not sure how you could've failed it.

Solution:

I spent the better part of 3 hours trying to do the Imalia "Plant some cameras in Tawnis appartment" quest. Imalia kept complaining I was discovered (I wasent).

I redid it 7 times. 5th time I went to Activisions homepage and read you cant use Obfuscate to stay hidden. LIE!. Dident work without Obfuscate either. I used a fresh save every time.

Finally I decompiled the bloody thing to figure the quest out and manually told the console I had not been discovered. (Open console and type: G.Tawni_Spotted=0). This worked. Just thought I'd share it in case anyone has the same problem :-)

Edit: Oh yea, type the G.Tawni thing after youve set up cameras and activated them on the computer, but before you talk to Imalia again. I did it just before talking to her.

And about not being able to get the quest, you can change the quest progression by using these two console commands:

__main__.FindPlayer().SetQuest("Imalia", 3)
and
G.Imalia_Quest = 3

3 is "Only need to talk to Imalia to be done". I guess 0 would be "has not gotten the quest". There are two commands because one updates your quest status, and the other updates your Quest log.

Oh yea, and in case you dident get the cameras (like me, my inventory was full) use:
give item_g_wireless_camera_1
give item_g_wireless_camera_2
give item_g_wireless_camera_3

Imagine having to figure all this out to complete a quest :-)

I got this quest everytime now...

Here are some things to watch out for...

First: Have enough space in your Inventory ( you can get rid of your former Quest items, like diaries and cards, in the box in your Haven ). Otherwise you won't get the cameras or only 1 or 2 of the 3.

Second: You have to be nice to her to get the Quest...if you insult her, like: You like ****ty now ( don't know the exact words anymore ), you won't get it.

Third: You can finish the Quest with Stealth alone, even my Tremere character made it with Stealth 2. If you have access to Obfuscate, even better...

And last: The laptop to access the cameras is a bit hard to use, I jumped on the little table it sits upon and used it from there ( still in stealth mode ).

Imalia is also supposed to give you a quest for getting a magazine from Flynn called Cover Girl. But I can't seem to open it up. Any advice anybody?

i believe you have to piss her off good, and after than when you want to 'make up' she gives you this quest

I have played through with all clans and have gotten both quests each time except for the very first time.
You have to "P" off Imalia by saying shes ugly then appologize, she'll continue talking. "P" her off again and try to appologize, she says thats it don't come back untill you have last years copy of GUY magazine where I'm on the cover wearing nothing but a band-aid and two bottle caps... something like that. This gets you the first quest. You have to go to the Sin Bin and buy the magazine off of Flynn. Take it back to her and she'll talk to you again. Now you can get the Tawni quest. If at any time during the Tawni quest you here Tawni or her boyfriend say anything..... you've been caught and will fail the quest. You must sneak in, plant the cameras, activate them, and get out unseen.

There's absolutely no tangible benefits from the Imalia Guy Magazine quest. You receive no experience, and end of up having to dish out a fair amount of cash to Flynn. It's easier to just be nice to Imalia....that way you get the good quest without having to do this one. Still, if you're trying to figure out how to do everything, Dr. Evil is right on the money on how to get and complete the quest.
