How to activate dialogue?

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to activate dialogue that's supposed to be in the game?

While playing, I've noticed that there have been instances (always in the same place in the game) where the NPC is suposed to say the dialogue, but doesn't. All that appears on the screen is the text, but no sounds and no character animation occurs.

Now, I know that the sound file is in the game files:

D:\Games\Vampire\Vampire\sound\character\dlg\main characters\jack_tutorial\line101_col_e.mp3

but I'm not sure if there's a way to actually go into a game file and re-activate the dialogue so it will play in the game.

Btw, I do have the latest patches, both the official v1.2 and unofficial v1.6.

If anyone knows of a way to modify a game file, could you please let me know?
