Gun Running in Chinatown

I know money isn't really an issue by the time you reach Chinatown, but on my third trip through the game, I am trying to see how much hard cash I can accumulate.

Yeah, very inane. It means choosing all the options that will net me money instead of XP or humanity. Eg. blackmailing Julius for the $150.00, asking Romero for money instead of weapons training. My nett worth is approximately $6000.00 but I am hoping to hit 10K.

It also means that when I take down a Tong, he had better be shooting at me with his Brock or Killmatic. Because each one is worth at least $100. So after clearing out the Glaze, the White Blossom, Zhao's Warehouse and the backroom of the noodle shop, I must have netted some $1500 from the sale of guns alone.

The numerous round trips to Tseng and back was a real pain and just wished that Troika had allowed us to carry multiple 'same' weapons.

A real pity that you can only visit the Giovanni's mansion once. Everyone was dropping a Brock! Same thing with the Society of Leopold.

Yeah I sold every item I came across to, I think I ended the game with just under $8000. What sucks is the limited amount of weapons you can carry. Only so many guns and melee weapons. I went through the Leopold with all the guns I could already carry so I couldn't pick up theirs though I did drop one so I could pick up the rifle.

The gun stacking issue seems to have been chiefly in order to simplify the "ammo" system. And, as you say, there really wasn't much of a money issue late in the game, anyway. So, it didn't bother me too much.

Once you buy Tseng's out, you are really just purchasing ammo and blood. And, quite frankly, by some play styles a surplus of those things isn't necessary. I know that without doing any gun running, I was still quite rich at the end of the game after having bought everything of interest. I suppose if you are an ammo junkie you might be a bit shorter on the cash, but I can't imagine anyone being poor post-China Town.

I suggested the gun-running some while back.

you need to be careful to place the weapons far enough apart that you can pick one up without the other becoming ammo.

I usually spread them out along the laim corridor and the foyer so as to be able to sell them.

what I also tend to do is to go into a mission missing what I know I can pick up, so that way I can sell more weapons. chinatown is best because you can go back into buildings once you have finished a mission.
