Getting it on with Jeanette

Wel I managed to do the deed with Jeanette but when I gave her the locket I felt kind of bad that I hadn't helped the ghost woman from the hotel, I mean she did help me and save my life. Am I the only one who felt bad?

You were an innocent woman on holidays with a envious, but loving husband. One day, he snaps like a dry twig, and in a blur of pain your husband crushes your head with an axe after killing your children in front of you, scattering them about a hotel he plans to totaly demolish in his rage.
You die. Suprise? No. But when you wake up again in a cold, wind blasted, grey landsacpe covered in a fine sticky film, THATS a suprise.
Even more suprising, your children are here with you! Thank heavens they are alright... But wait, no, something is wrong with them. They just stare blankly, ocassionaly giggling or crying, and no matter what you do you can't make them stop. All day and all night, they are either chillingly silent, deafly screaming and crying, or creepily giggling and watching you, and theres nothign you can do.
But wait, it's worse! He's in here some place too.. Only he's changed. He is nothing but envy now. When you see him, he's dark.. He seems confused, almost longging to say something to you, but he can't. You pretend your not scared.. You pretend you love him and enjoy being with only him, because if you don't, he always turns towards you and the children.. And he always has that axe... Your cold, alone, theres nobody REALLY here.. Only a reflection of the man who betrayed and killed you, an echo of pain.. Your children are nothing but shadows that mock you, and the hotel is a shell.
Then one day, some.. THING comes in the night. Something dark, but powerful that, like you, is cold and dead, but remains still in the land of the living. This is your one and ONLY chance. You know why it's here, the same reason the people came here to work, they want to re-make the hotel.. But they were all ignorant living people who couldn't help you escape him if they wanted to.. But this creature.. If only you could help it find the locket he prizes so much.. It might just help you drive him out.
You take your own unlife in your hands, and you help this monster. You know He knows! He hates it! He's consumed with envy again! When it was just you and him, it wasn't so bad.. But now.. He's trying to hurt the monster, and you! The monster doesn't budge.. It's stoic and cold like stone, and no matter what He does, the monster presses on. Eventualy it gets the necklace and is gone... All you have to do now is wait.
It's going to be hard to wait. He's comming, and he's angry. He's going to do all sorts of things to you.. To the children.. It's going to hurt so much, and for so long.. But if you can just endure for a day, maybe more, just take the pain for a little while, soon he'll be gone.
And somewhere out there, her pendant is sinking to the bottom of the ocean... You nasty bit of work you. I sure hope Jeanette was the best sex of your life.

I felt bad and I felt scared. Bad, because she is apparently now damned to haunt that place for all of eternity -- and I did it to get in bed with Jeannette!
Scared, because I didn't realize that that thorn item (defence +1) is at the ocean hotel, so I went back, thinking: ok, I've damned this ghost-woman for all eternity... and here I am wandering in. (couldn't get the item as the second floor was blocked)

1. The black screen is pretty dull, I would have perfered a more realistic encounter like it should be. Kindred gain pleasure from feeding, and when two get together, they will feed from each other at the same time (not that they cant do it the old way, and some do). I would have been happier if the sceen went like this: The two would embrace and then feed on each other as the screen goes to black. Would have cooler and more accurate.

2. I have also noticed the last couple of times, and more pronounced this time, that I hear growling near Jeanette (not from her, but close). After playing through twice already, I have started to notice little things (like watching a movie over again, and again, and again). I'm sure that Bertram, SM's local sewer rat and Jeanette's other, is in the room. I wonder if I keep coming back and keep messing with Jeanette, he will show himself? Could be a fun little surprise.

Anyone else run into this?

I have played that scene many times too. I am still trying to find out where it is since I have unpacked my files. It must be a wav file. I am pretty sure though that all the growling/barking/moaning comes from Jeanette. Maybe I did some too. Not sure. I will have to try it with a male character one day.

However, she does say what sounds like two words just as you finish. Even listening with headphones, I couldn't tell what they were. Kind of sounded like, Bored now.

When are you supposed to type this? Before they confront each other? I tried it afterwards once I got the Skyline Apartment and Therese was there still holding the gun, but nothing happened. I had hoped that Jeanette would pop out and take me for a ride!

And yes, I am greedy! I want Jeanette, Heather and Venus since she boinked her last "partner". I am sure that when I get farther into the game, this list will get bigger.

The growling comes from the right of her, if look, there is that divider between the bed and desk, that is were it is the loudest. Also you can not pass or jump through that space as if someone was there.

Actually, there is some measure of hope even if you give the pendant to Jeanette. The kicker is, you have to get both Jeanette and Therese to reconcile and coexist (no boinky for you!).

If you come back to The Asylum after getting the Voermans to make nice with each other, Therese at one point mentions that Jeanette found the pendant from the Ocean House. This dialog occurs even if you didn't give up the pendant to Jeanette.

Whether or not this updates your quest log to show a successful completion of the quest, I do not know.

Oh! Well thats nice at least. See I never took the option of giving her the pendant and then making them love each other once again.. I usualy totaly backed one, or totaly backed the other. Aren't I devoted??

im playing as a toreador male and i refused to give her the locket, i said id slash the paintings for her im not even done that yet and i got that naughty sounding audio sequence wasnt expecting it though! all though i cant say i was totally surprised...

You must have the latest unofficial patch installed. It changes the way Jeanette works, allowing you to sleep with her before slashing the paintings, regardless of whether you give her the locket or not. All you have to do is be seductive.

OK EVERYONE! I havn't been on here much but I just installed the 1.2 amd 3.1 patch (not sure if that's what did it...) and I just got back from the haunted beach hotel. I'm sure that you are all aware that in order to sleep with Jeannette you have to give her that pendant, but if you're like me and you hate having incomplete missions I soooo have the solution. I found a way to give the pendant to Therese AND have sex with Jeannette (woohoo!) even though the sex sceen is a fade to black (lame) i still wanted to see what the hype was about. All you have to do is flirt with her whenever possible and when you bring back the pendant don't give it to her, but be sympathetic. then there are a few more flirt lines available and then you say something to the effect of "we can amuse ourselves together..." and presto you dont even have to pick her for the rivalry so you get all 3 xp.tada!
