Argh! Can't talk to Heather after Soceity quest...

...Right after finishing the SoL quest, I go to speak with my ghoul. (I'm playing with the latest patch, btw...) She's standing in my apartment, but every time I try to speak to her the game crashes to desktop. I'm playing a malk, btw, dunno if that makes a difference.

...I had an older mod on my system for keeping Heather alive, and this must've conflicted with the recent patches.

Seems a bit like the problem Mike89 had in THIS THREAD. Maybe you'll like to read it.

It's not crashing when loading, or selecting one conversation option, just when I try the converse option. I did a complete reinstall of the game and patched back up to 4.8 and it did the trick, so I suspect it was the "heather no die" mod. I don't listen to the sound bits on WMV or anything else.

I had this problem

so i asked our good old loyal mate wesp5

he said that the sounds could be crashing because i've listened to the sounds in a sound player like windows media player and it puts a playlist tag on all the files so them vtmb cant recognise it and crashes

so i had to save my save directory somewhere else uninstall vtmb then restall it then reapply the patches and it worked perfectly


also with the 4.9 patch you have the option to save heather but you don't get ya armour so you gotta make a choice but you can save her
