About potence discipline

How exactly does the potence discipline workes in Bloodlines?

Ok, it ads to strenght and damage caused by supernatural strength cannot be defended against.

But does it make any sense increasing the strenght of the character if you're going to use potence? If it will add to strenght why put any point in it?

Thanks.

Potence adds unsoakable damage. It's damage that can't be resisted. As such, its far superior to strength. To maximize your damage output you can have blood buff and potence actived.
