Using relics and charms on legendary items?!?!

Hi guys. I play TQ for pretty long time and have 2 heroes above 60 lvl so i think i have well realised the basics of the game. But one thing really puzzled me when i was looking trough some screenshots on a TQ fan site. Here it is the link Titan Quest News, Trailers, Screenshots, Previews, Reviews, Guides -- Titan Quest: Immortal Throne Vault . The shown hero has the trident from the poseidon set, which is a legendary weapon and there is a legendary diseased plumage in it. He also has items from the legendary legionnaire set whit some kind of charms in them (there are "+" on them). My question is: Is there any way to put relics/charms in legendaries or this guy uses trainers or additional programs?

Occasionally you can put charms in a particular item even if it is unique or part of a set. I'm not sure why, but I guess you just have to find the right items.

Can't you put legendary relics/charms on legendary items and epic relics/charms on epic items?

So far as I know, the only way to put relics and charms into set or unique items is to use mods.

@Siberys
I believe some "sets" aren't really sets, they have matching names and most will be epics...but an item or two will be a green (which a relic/charm can be placed in). Could be what you're thinking of.

@Exarsere
No. Relics/charms are not placeable on blues and purples.

@swcarter
Bingo!

You can only place relics/charms in blues and purples by using a mod, such as Bman's 'Relics/Charms In Uniques' mod in my Defiler and Portable programs.

The relics/charms make a huge difference to greens, i am losing nearly 800dps from swapping out my green relic'd armour and bow for a complete purple set and bow, just seems that the relics are over powered if that happens and there should be some way of letting you mod the purples so that they are not beaten by greens. without using third party mods that is.
